Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, May 29th, due the Memorial Day holiday. Tuesday and Wednesday are also early-release days too.
Thank you and have a wonderfully long, restful weekend!
Congratulations Ali Black
for being the B.O.B. winner and representing the 6th grade so well! She also received a Kindle Fire and B.O.B swag for her hard work effort which consisted of reading 15 books!
Kudos and well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents and students:
The 6th-grade students rocked SAGE and their end-of-year Moby Max assessments, so we’re celebrating with an in-class movie tomorrow and Wednesday. The movie will be Tangled (Rated G) and students are allowed to bring pillows and blankets to watch comfortably. Regular dress code will still apply.
If students want to snack during the movie, they may bring their own snack to eat, but not to share with other students.
Congratulations to the 6th graders for their hard work and effort this year!!!
Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Murray
Ascent Academy EXPO night will be Wednesday, May 24th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. All students, family, and friends are encouraged to attend and view the various enrichment clusters. See you there!
There will be no more Utah Compose assignments due for the end of the year. Enjoy!!!

WELLNESS POLICY REMINDER
The purpose of this policy is to assure students with food allergies or
other medical issues such as diabetes are not exposed to food items that
could cause them harm. For purpose of this procedure, “food” includes
any type of edible item that a student will consume or come in contact
with. Please do not allow your child to bring food to school to share with
others. Food consumption is allowed at lunchtime only unless
designated by the classroom teacher. Help us keep all of our students
13 REASONS WHY
In response to Netflix Series 13 Reasons Why, Utah State Board of
Education has recommended the following documents be shared with
all staff, and made available to parents. If a student has already watched
the series, the recommendation is to review the Talking Points
document with them.
• 13 Reasons Why Talking Points
• Recommendations for Reporting on Suicide
• Community Resources
The show, based on a novel, is the story of a 17-year-old girl who
takes her own life. She leaves behind 13 recordings explaining the
reasons why she chose to commit suicide. While the show brings
up the importance to talk about suicidal thoughts, it portrays
in graphic detail situations where youth are dealing with
serious issues, from bullying to sexual assault, without getting
support from adults. Please consider the age and developmental
stage of your student before allowing them to watch the show.
FINAL BOB BATTLES
The battle is on! It is scheduled for May 22nd. The times are as

for the top scoring BOB participant and 2 Kindle Fires for the next 2 top
scorers. Good luck, good skill, and happy reading!
