The last day to turn in any missing, late, or absent work will be Friday, May 26. I cannot grade anything after Friday. Thank you for understanding.
The Ascent Jr. High’s late policy still applies; late work turned in within one week of the original due date can earn up to 75% credit. Any work turned in outside of the one-week window will not be accepted.
To all ninth graders:
I am looking forward to celebrating with you at the 9th Grade Celebration. Each teacher has the privilege of giving a subject-area award to an outstanding student. Please join us on May 25 at 5:00 pm.
Yearbooks are now on sale. Please follow the directions to reserve your yearbook.
Reminder: In order to receive full credit, all assignments must be turned in by the assigned due date. Students may turn an assignment in up to one week following the due date for up to 75%. After that no late work will be accepted.
Any extenuating circumstances must be approved by the teacher BEFORE the assignment is due.
Parents and students:
Here is an overview of the upcoming SAGE testing schedule.
Hi there! My name is Mrs. Ashlyn Anderson, and I am a new teacher at Ascent Academy adopting the language arts classes previously taught by Mr. Tanner.
I am a BYU graduate with my teaching certification in English language arts and theatre arts. I have previously taught both subjects in several big high schools and a few elementary schools in Utah. This is my first time at a junior high school.
I am originally from Michigan, but I moved to Utah to attend university. I like to spend my free time with Mr. Anderson. We enjoy hiking, playing tennis, bowling, seeing shows, and playing board games together. We currently have no children or pets, but we spend almost every weekend visiting our siblings who have also moved to Utah.
As a teacher, I truly love when my classes establish a culture of trust and respect so that we can have some fun, relax, and support each other as we discuss literature and writing. I hope that all of my students grow to feel safe and cared about; I know it’s challenging meeting a new teacher in the end of third term, but I want to help all of you succeed and am happy to spend extra time outside of class answering your questions and helping you meet your goals. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need help!
